To Scale the Blue Sky Chapter 2 Hamilton Tumblr

Rereading Blue Sky now, JUST got to the part with moonshine.exe, Garret's "Benign Virus," which to Wheatley is a contradiction in terms, and I just remembered how Waffles said that Wheatley's intelligence-dampening influence on Chell is a good thing, because he makes her more relaxed and happy, which is, um, sort of what alcohol does?? And I'm like, Thematic Connection time between the benign virus of moonshine.exe and Wheatley's influence on Chell, and I'm like.... brazilient writing here.

so it's already my post-BS headcanon that every time Wheatley walks by Foxglove, says hello. also my headcanon that Chell and Wheatley have like a ton of children. Now, imagine: Chell and Wheatley leading a train of children, duckling-style, past Foxglove; Wheatley says "hullo, Foxglove," and ALL OF THE CHILDREN say "Hello, Foxglove" as they walk by because they're imitating their dad.

This is ADORABLE

You've probably been asked this a gazillion times, and if it's not something you wanna share, I understand, but are you a boy or a girl? :o Somehow I kinda assumed a girl(??), but a video on YouTube talking about Blue Sky said they weren't sure and I realized I didn't really know either ^^; So I just wanted to ask :)

I'm requesting a headcanon for 2 characters but feel free to only do one if you prefer! Relationship with/thoughts on Wheatley for both Garret and Aaron? :)

Aaron, was certainly a bit perplexed by Wheatley in the beginning. Like he tells Chell himself in Chapter… what was it, nine maybe? he sees a similar fish-out-of-water confusion in Wheatley that he saw in a certain other stranger when she first stumbled into town. However he correctly deduces that Wheatley's weirdness, unlike Chell's, probably isn't going to go away anytime soon.

But as he seems to be a rather practical and hands-off sort, I doubt Aaron really thought too hard about Wheatley, as long as Chell seemed to have him under control and he didn't cause any trouble. Well… too much trouble, anyway.

Nowadays Wheatley's just like any other quirky neighbor you wave to in the mornings on the street and shake your head at when he makes something fall off the shelf again.

Garret definitely thought Wheatley was a piece of work at first, but I don't think there was ever a point where he actually disliked him, not even when Wheatley blew up in his face. (He is a VERY patient guy, after all). Kinda like with most of the Portal fandom, he finds Wheatley's antics entertaining more than anything else, and while he will poke fun sometimes and mess with his head, there are no malicious intentions behind it.

I think his background of working with machines really helped in how they get along, honestly, considering how for all intents and purposes Wheatley IS a machine (even if he was a human first). When Wheatley finds himself not being able to connect properly with his surroundings and acting up, Garret knows how to deal with it because hey, he's been helping quirky bits of code find their place in a bigger picture for the better part of the last three years! :P Being so intimately familiar with machines and AI, he's able to understand Wheatley on a deeper level than most, even if neither of them would even consciously realize it.

Chell is a factor that brings them together too, with Garret being one of her best friends and Wheatley being her… well whatever the heck he exactly is to her xP. Wheatley probably goes to him for relationship advice and when he has a question he can't ask Chell himself, since Garret has technically known her and lived with her longer than he has. And Garret's basically the best wingman you could ever ask for, I have no doubt.

Movie poster I made a couple weeks ago for image manipulation. Not many people understood it though, and that made me sad.

"But then, I'm a genius, and you're an idiot poured into a football."

I so love this line because She's outright telling us the truth -for once-, but, since we know She lies no one pays any attention to what it seem to be one of her usual biting remarks. It's evident GLaDOS knew exactly about the core creation process, but didn't think it to be of any importance to talk about it aside from this casual, mocking comment She throws in passing.

I guess Chell would have remembered this comment much later, and it probably was one of the pieces that helped her connect the dots about Wheatley's past.

Anger headcanon, Wheatley, post-Blue Sky.

starry-nightengale:

Hmm… I think Wheatley probably doesn't get as angry these days as he might have back in Aperture, since it's an altogether more laid-back and non-judgy environment and a good chunk of the people there actually like him?

But for a while there might even be times where, when something does frustrate him he tries almost a bit too hard to not get mad, considering his Mess Everything Up-capabilities seem to skyrocket when he does, and he doesn't want to risk making everyone hate him after things have just started to go right in the world. The old habit of bottling up his anger until it explodes out of him has never done any good, but hey, kicking it is hard.

I'm sure gradually (and with Chell's and the others' help) he'll be able to learn how to deal with anger in a healthy, non-distructive way like a normal human being. Centuries in Aperture doesn't do wonders for a person's emotional wellbeing, so some time in the fresh air can't be anything but beneficial~.

Top of the list of "people who need a hug" is Wheatley.
